I was wondering if it is possible to zoom out of the TDU 2 map/gps while driving. I am not talking about the map that lets you access dealers, tuners, etc. I am talking about the gps. Thanks for your help

We have a GPS program on our laptop, but want a smaller portable system for using in our vehicles, as well as when snowmobiling. We enjoy traveling in some places where the roads aren’t even on the map.

I’d like to know whether it’s possible to get a GPS system when you rent a car. I’m bad with directions & I’ve never driven alone when traveling, so I’m only comfortable renting if I know I’ll have GPS to get me un-lost! My phone doesn’t have this feature. So can I rent a GPS system, or find a company that allows you to rent the system along with the car, or pick only a car that has it built in?

Thanks!
P.S. Yes I know how to work an atlas, and how to print directions, but it’s tough at night on a freeway in an unfamiliar town to keep glancing down at a map to see how close you are to your exit, etc. Not to mention it’s always unsafe to read while driving 65mph or more!

i dont really know how to use it. they say it has a built in map and gps. but im testing it at home. i thought i should atlest see all land. is that why i dont see anything?

like you can on websites like Yahoo Maps, Mapquest, etc. For example, on Yahoo Maps, if you type in "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue / Washington, DC 20500," a star appears where the White House is located on the map. Is this feature available on GPS devices?

I am now testing a garmin GPS. I love it, But ware the garmin is great on re-routing you away from different situations, the Magellan cant. Or can it? My questions are:

Can you have poi displayed on garmins map screen like you can with the Magellan? While driveing around you have have magellan show gas stations, ATM’s, or what ever you want displayed as a icon on the map as you are driveing. And in a new area that is a real help. Can you set the garmin to do the same? So far all i can see is you can do a local search around you and just get a list.

But my Magellan sent me to a customers house and had me drive over a verry bad dirt and rockey road, and the garmin had a feature the let me select different options to avoid when giveing me directions like no tole road, no car pool lanes, and NO un-paved roads. The garmin was great with that.

Does Magellan have a selecton feature one one of there other models that lets me avoid dirt/unpaved roads when it routs me?

Can I set up different POI to always be displayed on any garmin models?

I have learned the Magellan seems to be more accurate on it’s cracking then the garmin. No jumping around. At least here in Bullhead City AZ
