so the asus transformer has gps just can’t use google maps for navigation because it needs a data connection. Thanks for posting this.
Yes i have A Transformer also and it does not need the Internet to access GPS. if you buy Navigon (Which i use think its the Best out there) or other software it works fine no need to have Internet access. unless you want to use extra options of some of the GPS packages like live traffic and speed cams, etc.. But if you you Google Maps it will request Internet access to use the GPS..
If you know you’re going to be driving in a specific area, you can use Google Maps to download that area into your cache. Then it will be available even if you don’t have internet access. Of course traffic still won’t be live.
