Hi all,i really hope that someone out there can solve this issue for me.

Ok i bought a few GPS units (All the Same) from China, but when i tested them i have found that everyone freezes up and needs to be reset everytime (Very annoying). The GPS will work ok for approx 30 mins then it freezes for the first time, then after reseting it will freeze about every 10 mins.

The GPS is running on MSD (meiseda) software or motherboard?
im running igo8 software and New Zealand (igo) maps. May i add that i have also tried igo amigo software and still have the freezing problem so im assuming it the GPS units themselves or the software that runs on the units ie the MSD?

I have set the time with the GPS satalites and changed and saved the "BAUD & PORTS" to the required settings and still same problem.

Can anyone pleeeeease out there help?

Many thanks in advance for your replies.

Yours Sincerely
Rob.

The GPS problem I find ONLY happens with Google maps or Google earth. anything Google and GPS. I have tried other maps and it doesn’t happen (even right after google says it can’t locate me for 100th time). But if I run GPS test app (takes 20 sec) or another map and then start navigation or Google maps then GPS works just fine. Which makes me think HMMM it is a Google issues if other companies apps work with triumph GPS. Triumph battery doesn’t last as long but triumph charges faster then the optimus (yep optimus 1500 battery and triumph 1400). If you read old complaints when optimus released about how horribly long the battery was to fully charge. The screen flash happens when you unlock as soon as the screen locks. it doesn’t happen when the phone screen has been locked for 10 seconds ( I timed it ). I even tried reformatting phone to see if it was an application running in the background. Why? don’t know yet. UPDATE: today I got a replacement and no screen flicker

I want to do the installation on my own and I would like it if the system doesn’t require a fee.

I’m taking a road trip soon to a new location and I need a GPS. Can anybody suggest a good one for under 0.

I’m getting frustrated trying to find a GPS that works properly in the Seattle area. Just test drove a Tom Tom 550 xxl and it lost the satellite for ages, repeatedly…completely annoying. It’s going back. We also have a Garmin 265w which has sent us across the main road and down back alleys just to end up on the main road again. Is there really not a GPS out there that will just get you from point A to point B without a hassle? I’d love to hear from anyone who drives in downtown Seattle and gets a consistent signal and success with their travels. Thanks.

I’m looking for a handheld GPS that I can enter way points, and also one that shows your exact latitude and longitude.
